OK, I think I owe everyone a recap of Steve's D&D campaign from the 5th of June. Following the scorpion attacks at moondark, our party went back to its watch/sleep schedule. We allowed Twiggy the extra hour needed to recover the spell slot he had spent the previous day. Unfortunately, the spell slots he used against the scorpions were too recent to be refreshed so soon. When morning came we tried to rescue some of the meat from the huge scorpion before following their tracks to a small cave. Inside was a network of cave tunnels, filled with large scorpions. While we could keep our own against one, at one point we were ambushed by three at a time. Twiggy fell, and Hawk went to retrieve the body only to fall himself. The scorpions were fast enough that they outran even Capernicus's cheetah form, leaving him unable to rescue either teammate before they fell. Eventually, we retreated to where we camped the night before.
Mike is currently making a dwarven fighter with his eye on the dwarven defender prestige class. Rusty is making a svirfneblin bard to replace Twiggy. And, of course, Smitty will be joining the campaign with his mysterious character. Saturday should be interesting.
Thank Jada for this quiz!
"Obviously it ought to be the oldest things that are taught to the youngest people; the assured and experienced truths that are put first to the baby. But in a school today the baby has to submit to a system that is younger than himself. The flopping infant of four actually has more experience, and has weathered the world longer than the dogma to which he is made to submit."
