  • Reuters | U.S. agency wants fine for Bono expletive / Full News Coverage

Everytime I go to post here, I'm avoiding posting anything relevant.  Everytime I pray I've been avoiding discussing anything relevant.  I really need to stop doing that and move on with my life.  Yet, I've let my life skid to a halt these past two weeks.  I'd like to stop that now.

As I've been catching up on my backlog of Xanga subscriptions, I found this which was of some reassurance.  I'm only five and a half months behind now.  I guess I should stop now and go to bed.  My work week starts tomorrow.

  • Paul, avoiding things is good.  We do it when we are not psychologically ready to cope with whatever we're avoiding--or physcally ready.  Hang in there!  You're not supposed to have the mid-life cris for another 15 years.  :)

I took the Quizilla test too. Came out as Athena too.  Dang.  We must be too much alike.  Then I took it again and consciously selected for sex every chance I could.  But sex was equated with violence in a couple of those questions, and so I came out as Nemesis.  Go figure!  Fun, but I might not repost that on my own Xanga site.

P.S.  Corey writes fan fiction for his own amusement.  You might be interested to know that you had a supporting role in the latest epic--chosen for your demonstrated role-playing prowess.  In the story, Corey merged Runescape with Trollworld, and you helped him save the universe from the evil god Zamorak.  Not bad, eh!

  • Hey Paul, from your link to Catholic_Kelly's note, can I assume your concerns are that Michael did not live the Christian life and you are worried about his soul? Just the other day we were explaining to the boys, who had asked, about heaven and how you get there, and what happens if you don't go to heaven. Trying to make it simple enough for 6 and 4 year olds to understand was a little difficult but ended up going over ok and had the end result of making us dwell on that important topic for a while. At least it was on my mind the rest of that day. The point is that sometimes talking about it does help and I hope that you find some comfort in friends and strangers posting reassuring notes on your weblog. I've kept Michael's friends and family in my prayers when I think about it, and you mentioning it on your log helps keep that prayer request in my head. Hang on, buddy!

  • Thanks guys.  Maybe if I'm lucky I'll avoid the whole midlife crisis when the time comes.  It's not that I'm concerned for Michael's soul as it is reassuring to be reminded that those of good character who don't profess to the faith still have a shot.  Obviously, we don't know what his final thoughts were, and he could have fully accepted or rejected God at the end.  However, looking at the fullness of his life:  the maturity he gained over the years reflected a generous, kind, and loving soul.  So we have to hope and pray that he continued that in his last moments, and I have absolutely no reason to believe otherwise anyway.  Catholic_Kelly's post was just a well-timed reinforcement of that, for which I thank God for the synchonicity.

As an aside, I'm honoured that Corey would be inspired by me enough to include me in one of his musings.  I must confess that I'm curious enough to want to read it, but not enough to potentially embarass him by asking him about it.  Hopefully, he'll keep up the writing as its a great way to keep the imagination engaged.
