Duty tells me I should be working on CopperCon XXIII Programming. Something else drives me to type here anyway. Convention programming requires putting up with a lot of two-faced people. I won't name names in order to prevent professional reputations from being ruined, so don't ask. I'm just sick of people who claim that they couldn't get ahold of me (when I always confirm that they have the correct phone and/or E-mail before letting people go!) or even worse, that they haven't been contacted.
The majority of participants are good about contact. Many of them are excellent. But there are a few who I would just like to flat out call liars, and have to use every ounce of will to not do so. No one is worth the kind of agrivation these few cause. I keep notes of every phone I have (as I have it) and keep every E-mail sent and recieved. So I have documention to back me up. I just don't understand why these people just can't admit that they procrastinated and still want a chance to participate. Or at least they could give a better excuse which doesn't try to scapegoat me. Trust me, if I ever act as program director for another convention, I will go out of my way to avoid inviting those people again. I shouldn't feel like cursing, and I won't put myself into a situation where I might feel like that again.
Anyway, duty does call. Later. Thanks for letting me vent, world.

The DSG is another thing making things fun. I send Kevin PMs on the boards, E-mails, and messages through Scott (Darth Greedo) and still I get no direct contact. Instead I hear about how Kevin and Pat ask Larry to handle everything for them. Kevin and Mike, as participants, need to contact me about program. They need to contact Lee about their space in Lower Pre-Convene. Tyey shouldn't be dragging Larry into it when he has enough to concern him.
And thanks for finally replying, Kristie. I assumed that you've just been too busy to get back with me. Working for me is fairly easy. All you have to do is sit in a room and do room counts fifteen minutes in and fifteen minutes before the end of each event, make sure the hotel staff keeps enough water in the room, and hand out questionaires to people as they leave panels. If you do twelve hours of that over the four days you get free membership into next year. How could that be bad? Surely you could spend four hours of each day away from the DSG? After all, my guess is that you offered to help me first.
Sorry if I lack my usual tact in this reply, but I have been up all night doing more last minute program. I'm going to try to squeeze in a couple of hours of sleep before work.
That sounds easy enough. Friday I should be able to do that - 4 hours? Yeah, that shouldn't be a problem.
Was planning on being there anyway on Friday - I didn't realize Kevin and co. had dropped the ball when it came to coordinating stuff with you. In fact, I'd barely heard anything about the con through them, other than they're planning on being there and were told that they had the same space as last year.
Saturday might be a little tougher. Rob and I have a belt test for karate that day. It was supposed to be this weekend, which would have worked out just fine - but since it's a holiday weekend, it got bumped to the 6th. At this point, I don't even know what time the test will start or how long it will be - it varies everytime. I might have to break up my 4 hours that day into smaller chunks, but I will let you know as soon as I find out.
Sunday shouldn't be a problem. Start early, finish early.
No worries about tact from you either. It's crunch time, you're extraordinarily busy. I completely understand. I hope this helps you out somewhat. Once again, I apologize for dropping the ball. It was stupid on my part. If you need to call me, just let me know - email is kreleia@cox.net. I think I still have your phone number too, unless it's changed since last CopperCon.
