So, as promised, here is a small recap of December.  I'm sure more details will be released in future entries as I tangentalise to them.

As you might recall from my entries before my hiatus, I had started my holiday overtime hours.  This meant I slept, went to work, and came home to sleep if I wanted a full night's sleep.  Any work day in which I did anything else meant sacrificing my sleep.

In addition, my parents had been promising to move out for quite some time.  As I had said in the last entry just before my hiatus, Mom had said goodbye to Father Milt.  She had implied she was moving the next weekend, and I had indicated in the entry that I lacked any faith in that implication.  Yet I was wrong.  They moved out that next weekend, and have been moving stuff to their house slowly.  As of today, they've only left a few boxes in the living room and shed.

That meant that phone service was finally canceled to this residence.  Thus, no ISP for me to hop onto the Internet on my weekends.  Plus I remained too busy to go to the library on my weekends, in order to surf from there.

I was at this time trying to secure Cox High Speed Internet through a friend at Cox in order that she might earn some commission off of me.  After all, a cell phone and cable ISP cost the same as a Qwest phone line and MSN 8.  I ended up not getting hooked up until the 5th of January.  But I do love the high speed.  Unfortunately, Mom and Grandmom are calling me more since my parents moved out.  I may not have enough minutes on my current plan.  We'll find out.

But not right away unfortunately.  The USPS shut down my post office box without warning.  Since I complained they said that anytime a change of address is filed for a post office box, the whole box is closed.  They then proceded to tell me that I had already been warned when I first filed the change of address.  When I asked Mom, she said she was not warned in any such way, shape, or form.  She sounded awefully offended, so I believe her.  Which means that all of my bills were returned to sender until I filed a change of address for myself for my post office box this past week.  How amazingly annoying.

So, my weekends in December consisted of unpacking my stuff from my bedroom and bathroom to fill the rest of the house.  The first stuff was, of course, kitchen items.  Following that was the television, stereo system, computer, and related furniture.  I never put up my Christmas tree because of the state of flux of my home and that fact that I didn't get home Christmas day until eight or nine that night.

Christmas Eve I was supposed to have off from work, my manager having asked me to work the Monday before instead.  But once a couple of employees got sick I got the "favour" of even more overtime by working both days.  Following work my grandparents, parents, step-brother Jimmie Jr, his current girlfriend Becky, and I went to Christmas Eve Mass at Saint Raphael's Parish before the annual Christmas Eve party at my grandparents' place.

Then, my parents had me spend the night at their place in order to share the first Christmas at their new place.  Jimmie and his girlfriend were staying there as well, so a grand time was had by all.  Then, we met my grandparents again to have dinner at the Arrowhead IHOP.

New Years Eve, on the other hand, was spent at Michael's place where Kitty was hosting a Game Night.  All invitees were encouraged to bring different games so that different groups of people could play different games at different times.  Lori and Kitty wanted me to bring Fairy Meat again, so I did.  Only, Lori and Tom ended up going to the Block Party instead once they heard that Kitty wasn't going to be supplying alcohol that evening.  This ticked off some people, but those that wanted to did play Fairy Meat opposite those playing Citadel.  I was falling asleep near the end of that, so surprisingly I think I had more fun playing Apples to Apples earlier in the night.

Then New Years Day we had our annual party at my grandparents with my cousin Jessica in attendance from Tucson.  She's becoming an amazing artist with pencil and pen.  I hope she smart enough to pursue it professionally when she grows up.

Since this time last week I've been busy catching up on E-mail and weblogs.  Now all I need to catch up on is the various message boards I post on.  I might actually not bother with some of the high volume ones like the PFF.  I'll just start looking at current threads and see if it's worthwhile to jump back in.  The lower volume ones like The Hub I'll just read everything posted in the forums I read since I last signed on.

As usual, I tried a lot of the silly quizes people put on their weblogs.  I'll share two, just because.

Tonight Mom stopped by to go to mass with me before taking me to dinner at Golden Wok.  I tried their Chef Special Seafood Eagle's Next.  Wow, it was a work of art for the visual and taste senses.  Shrimp, scallops, crab, lobster, and vegetables in sauce inside a nest of crispy noodles.  It really looked like a nest, too.  Plus, the central part of the nest soaked up the sauce and became even tastier than usual for noodles.  Then, we came home where she picked up some more stuff and borrowed my crutches.  Apparently she hurt her heal at Disneyland in November and she's now under orders to stay off it.

Stargate and X-Files were great episodes tonight.  But, if I want to mow the lawn tomorrow before Eric stops by I better get to bed now.  Later all.
