  • Cool!  Kitty and Rusty gave me a ride home tonight from the LepreCon XXIX Program Team meeting.  That means that I have time to type up the notes tonight while they're still fresh.

In other good news they've taken down the little memorial set up on the southwest corner of 22nd Place and Union Hills Drive.  Yay!  They've cleaned out the crosses, flowers, candles, and sidewalk graffitti.  It's about time.  We have cemeteries for a reason.  I don't begrudge people their grief or their memorials.  I just begrudge them putting their memorials in unappropriate places.  Next I've got to get the city to remove the memorial on the southwest corner of Cave Creek Road and Grovers.  This will be harder because its on private property rather than city property.  Wish me luck.

I'm afraid I didn't get done everything I had wanted today.  I picked up my mother's pre-ordered birthday present at the mall as planned.  I also bought a new U-lock for my bicycle at REI.  I didn't really have much choice.  My old one has disappeared.  I also picked up a set of Star Wars glass stines which were on clearance at Suncoast.  They're really cool, and they only cost $2.49 each.  They had cool Spider-Man or various anime candybars there, too.  Yet somehow I displayed the self control to not buy a single one.

I didn't get my mother's birthday cake baked or go shopping for cell phones as planned.  Oh well.  I can always try baking her cake Wednesday night after work.

I did get Lexmart to agree to ship a new X83 to me under the warranty conditions.  So I should have a functioning printer by Thursday evening.  Yay!

It only seems fair that while I'm listening to a Witchblade single that I should find:  1954 Senate Interim Report - Comic Books and Juvenile Delinquency.  This little document's effects still ripple through the comics industry today.  Be aware.  Knowledge is power.
