OK, so they have their computer tentatively set up for Internet access. They'll be getting a CD burner, Peachtree, and a full format to their computer sometime soon. In the meantime, civility has returned to the household.
Other good news today is that my great uncle Gene's blood pressue has decreased enough that they've taken him to a nursing home. It sounds like he likes it there, and great aunt Lucy visits him regularly.
Monday I finished reading The Massacre novelization while busing around town. While bored out of my skull I found Wolf in the Shadows lying at the bus stop without a front cover. In desperation I began reading it. It's actually quite good for a mystery novel. I quit reading mysteries when I was a kid as they had become rather predictible. Not this one. Either that, or I've forgotten their patterns. Either way, I'm reading it now at lunches and on bus rides. When co-workers or fellow bus passengers don't strike up conversations with me. When I have nothing to read no one will be available to talk. When I want to read something everyone wants to talk to me. I can't win.
Some bad news hit me. I knew that my one year contract was up with AT&T sometime in August. And I knew that the phone has been falling apart more and more and the battery connection has been getting worse and worse. And thus it was time to get a new phone and contract. But, dang, they took away my free 2000 night and weekend minutes when the contract was over. I did not need that kind of a bill this month. Ugh! I must absolutely quit putting off getting a new phone and contract. Once I have my bicycle back, it's top priority.
